january’s almost ending and except for that thunderstorm that happened on the 15th of january 3.am (yes i remembered) my 2012 has been pretty perfect. i think i’ve learnt a lot of things in such a short span of time. i’m so lucky to have friends that don’t scoff at my dilemmas and demean my theories about love, life, people and such. i’m so thankful that the people i love have always lent me a hand, an ear or any other body part for me to exploit and have always stuck by me and my sometimes, awful and untimely decisions. i feel really blessed and i am so thankful to god for giving me all these lovely people. they could have chosen to walk out the door and leave me swimming in my own fears and animosity, in my own pride and obstinance. they could have just said “i told you so” and thrown me out from their lives. but they did not. and for that i am eternally grateful. this is for you, mayu, amy, irna, ben, sapek, khaliq and my family. andddddddddddddddddddd

i LOVE lang lang. and i ABHOR youtube users who go around leaving really unnecessary comments on his videos. different pianists have different styles of playing and it’s just unfortunate for YOU that lang lang cannot afford to stoop down to YOUR tastes just to make one more person in this world appreciate his playing. who the hell are you to purport that his pauses and movements are exaggerated and unnecessary? if they are such an eyesore, just close the goddamn window and LISTEN to his music instead. and if you despise his interpretations, go listen to someone else. your preferences are NOT the standard. okay? if lang lang was such a terrible piano player, i’m pretty sure he wouldn’t be where he is right now. and IFFFFFF YOU ARE secretly a famous brilliant piano player hiding behind a youtube username, i would assume that such brilliance would not spark such wanton desire to spew immature commentary on someone else’s videos. also, who are you to confidently ASSESS that he wasn’t doing his job at a particular masterclass? do you even KNOW what a masterclass is? you don’t go for a masterclass just so you can fix your running notes. it is to improve your musicality and expression. it is to provide a different perspective of playing the piece. it would be an insult to the pianist AND to lang lang if he was going to sit there and point out which notes were played wrongly. any random piano teacher can point out technical mistakes but only great pianists can provide directive advice to improve on expression. if YOU “can’t imagine anyone wanting to have a masterclass with lang lang” then you’re probably thinking of yourself, because there are thousands who would love to have a master class with him and WHO HAVE HAD master classes with him. the only reason IIIIIIIIIII can IMAGINEEE why you would want to avoid such a thing, is probably because you are not a good enough pianist to warrant such greatness as your guide. simple as that. if little kids are delighted to have the experience of having him as a teacher, then who the fuck are you to say that he should lay off their interpretation when they themselves enrolled for the master class. please don’t impose your stupidity on such awesomeness. it’d do you good to use the time instead to practise and become a better pianist.

it really hit me the other day, a lot of days ago, that i’ve only 24 hours to live, each and every day. and i can choose to spend the bulk of the time, sleeping, watching dbsk videos, drawing, studying for my examinations, watching movies, playing RPG games, feeding my neopets, travelling, folding paper cranes, shopping, baking, working, going to school, all sorts of things that would either make me happy or at least give me the happiness of not doing anything i DON’T LIKE doing.

but. i realised. i was created to worship god. to glorify Him and exalt Him, and He has given me 24 hours yet has only asked from me, a mere 5 mins, 5 times a day, to prostrate and love Him. and, how can i deny Him that? when He has shown me so much mercy and gifted me with the luxury of time and the intelligence to spend it wisely. who am i to enter His paradise when i have not shown consistency in prayer, when i have not shown Him that i am worthy of being an inhabitant, when i have endlessly sinned in my heart in my brain in my actions in my words. who am i to be proud of what i have done and achieved over the years when pride and greatness ONLY belongs to Him.

i am only human. give me the strength to live as i should. help me find my way (:
